Corner of the Sky: a dance happening at the Staten Island Ferry terminal

On Monday, April 10, at approximately 11:09 am hundreds waiting at the Staten Island Ferrys Whitehall terminal in Manhattan were surprised by a spontaneous Broadway dance performance of The Harbor Lights Theater Company.

The performance of a newly recorded version of Wicked composer Stephen Schwartzs Corner of the Sky was designed to symbolize the Harbor Lights mission to build a bridge from Broadway to Staten Island.

The three-minute number featured a cast of Broadway and professional dancers and was choreographed by Chet Walker (co-creator of the Tony Award-winning Broadway show Fosse, Founder of WALKERDANCE, and Harbor Lights Board Member).

Walker is the Director and Choreographer of Harbor Lights one-night-only benefit honoring Stephen Schwartz being held this Saturday, April 24th at the St. George Theater on Staten Island.

Dancers credits to come!

The new recording of "Corner of the Sky," lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz and vocals by Ric Ryder, is used with permission.
