About Me:

i'm a huge fan of Broadway theatre and can't wait until i can go to college in the city so that i can be around it 24/7...i've haven't been in an official show in a few years (i've only done a few cabarets) but i still love to perform...unfortunately i don't have a great voice (i have no power behind my voice, i'm horrible at dynamics, and i have no vibrato) so Broadway is out of the question for me (but one thing that i do have going for me is that, although i've never taken any official dance classes, i pick up choreography really fast)...but if i had the voice i could easily do seven or eight shows a week and would love every minute of it...so because i'm really not going anywhere is this business (performing that is) and because i have no confidence in my voice (i hate singing alone and now i only sing in a womens' chorus...but besides the singing, amazingly i don't have stage fright...i never have...which i kind of cool) i've stopped auditioning for shows...but don't think that i've completely stopped my involvement in theatre...for the past three years i've been the student director for the drama club in my school district's middle school and plan to do it again next year...my senior and final year...while this may not seem like too big of a job, it is...we are the only middle school in the area that puts on a full production (no junior shows here!) and doesn't cut anyone...so this means that every year i have to work with about 115-150 middle school students...just a few of my many tasks include writing down all the blocking, collecting bios for the showbill, writing the mic plot, running mics during performances between actors (because we can't afford to get mics for everyone because we completely support ourselves financially through fundraising and ticket sales), hanging and focusing lights, building sets, moving sets, etc...i've gotten a lot of experience from this positon and a lot of people have told me that i should major in directing...but i don't think i will be...while i would love to direct something in college or be a stage manager or something else to that extent, i know that if i did make it far and became a Broadway director, it would make me miss the stage too much...but who knows...in a few years from now you might see my name in a Playbill or on some billboard in the city
