I Am A...
Actor, Singer, Musician, Technician, Director, Designer, Other
About Me:
I've been involved in community theater for nearly 50 years. NOW I'm retired from doing anything. AND I am rather enjoying the time off. I am heavy into Special Effects Makeup work and theater makeup work currently writing a book on stage makeup. I've been a student of an Academy Award winning SPFX Makeup artist - Dick Smith for many years. LOVE doing special makeup effects work. Also love to midi sequence theater musicals for fun and exercise and love composing and writing lyrics. I've been a professional singer for about 46 years, degree in vocal performance, taught voice, still sing but not as much. Theater KILLS the voice - or can. SO much more to tell - want to know? Ask.
Hometown:
I'm formerly from Hazelton, Pennsylvania
My Favorite Shows:
Les Miz, Phantom (yeah I know)..., Into The Woods, just about anything Sondheim, Fiddler, most of the classics though a lot of them are getting long in the tooth, so many more, the list would be far too long.
The Show I Want To See Next:
Les Miz AGAIN
My Favorite Actors:
Angela Lansbury, George Hern in Sweeney Todd
My Favorite Writer/Composer:
Sondheim, Tim Rice's lyrics, Alan Menken with Howard Ashman's lyrics
My Favorite Shows/Roles I’ve Done
Sweeney Todd, Romance-Romance, Roar Of The Greasepaint, Fiddler, Cabaret
Current Occupation
G.I.S. Analyst - computer mapping geek with State Government

I agree with you completely about the bad makeup books. I have a handful in addition to my copy of Corson (9th ed.), and only one comes reasonably close in terms of quality of information. Another has some excellent color photos, but the makeups are terrible. I'm quite glad to hear you're working on one, and by your description it sounds like a perfect concept. I'm sure I'll be coming to you in the future about proper techniques as I get further along with trying all this out, because the last thing I want is to do bad makeup. I'm clinging to my Corson as much as possible, but that can still leave some questions. :)

Hey Tony!
Thanks for the hello. Great to see you here as well as at the Effects Lab. I had no idea you were working on a stage makeup book - consider me first in line when it comes out!

Hi Tony,
Welcome to BroadwaySpace! I would like to invite you to my stage to give a listen to "Empty Seats" a digital songbook collection of tunes from my first set of shows. It's in the nimbit player on the right side of the page (you will have to scroll down a bit). Let me know if you hear something you like. I know you will love BroadwaySpace.

Tony,
Good to hear from and, yes, my hair was black. Doing the music seemed to make it all gray. LOL
