- About Me:
- Well... where do I begin... I started as a dancer. At the age of 7, I received training in classical ballet and voice which I feel were highly influential and were a critical part in my development as a performer. Performances with La Chapelle and Co. and calypso competitions are the most memorable parts of my life in elementary school.
After 7 years of dance with La Chapelle and Co., I decided to focus on high school. There I joined St Joseph's Convent's Choir and participated in Trinidad and Tobago's Music Festival,garnering good reviews for my solo performance. At the age of 15, I was afforded the opportunity to write and record my own song. I did just that and became one of the youngest members of COTT ( Copyright Organization of Trinidad and Tobago). At the age of 15, I experienced the inexplicable and extraordinary feeling all song writers feel when their song is played on the radio...
In High School, I became a member of the school band. This presented me with the opportunity to learn to play the drums, the guitar, cuatro and maracas.I enjoyed performing at all school functions; it gave me an outlet to express myself and to do all that I loved: Act, Sing, Play and instrument and Dance.
I performed in a number of short skits in high school, my most defined role being that of a suicidal teen in Keri Fabien's " Circumstances". In 2006, I became the first member of The Eastern Youth Chorale( under the direction of John Thomas), performing lead roles in Musicales 1("Jasmine" of Disney's Aladdin) and 3 ( "Christmas Eve" of Avenue Q, "Tracy" of Hairspray). In the year of 2007, I migrated to New York to pursue tertiary education at the College of Staten Island. I continue to write and record privately... :) All for the love...
