At home both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, Arlene is a veteran theatre professional with over 26 years experience as a Stage Director, Dramaturg, Acting Coach, actor and more in the NYC/NJ area and beyond.
With a passion for Shakespeare, New Play Development, musical theatre and the art of Collaboration, I am currently studying "Shakespeare and Theatre" in an wonderful part-time graduate program at The Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-upon-Avon, UK. This past summer I directed an innovative new interpretation of "Hamlet" to rave reviews at the Woodward Shakespeare Festival in Fresno, CA, where I will be returning summer of 2009 to direct "Richard III."
I look forward to meeting producers, playwrights, composers, lyricists, musical directors, actors, choreographers, stage managers and other theatre professionals who might be open to creative collaboration.

Just letting everyone know. My play, Bride of Uforia, has just been accepted for publication by Eldridge Plays & Musicals (www.histage,com). This makes published play #7!
I am currently putting the finishing touches on Glass Houses - 2 independent, yet connected, one-act comedy-thrillers that make up a full evening of murder, mayhem and laughs. This work is currently unoptions, but I am scouting theaters.

As to my original ideas...I am looking for people to work with me on three original ideas I have for musicals. Two are true stories with historical background. One is a fun revue based on a person i know who works in an interesting field. I am looking for someone to help me write the script and score!
