Gypsy Closing and Tracheitis

Hi Everybody,

Happy New Year! Well, this week is doubly sad for me. As you all know Gypsy is closing this coming Sunday January 11th. I am beyond sad that this experience will be over. To add insult to injury I was diagnosed with a throat infection (tracheitis) and advised by my doctor not to do the gala performance of A Little Night Music on Monday, January 12th. Adding the rehearsal schedule and demanding vocal performance of the concert on top of my last 8 shows of…

Viewers Choice & Eli Stone...

Hi All!

Well, it is the holiday season and I am very excited! I got an early present from BroadwayWorld.com yesterday at the theater. They sent me a Viewers Choice Award for best featured actress! I didn't even know I had won! Santa came early! Thank you BroadwayWorld and all who voted for me!

On a sad note Eli Stone has been canceled :-( I am disappointed for my friends over there. It is such a great show and they really are such wonderful people. My episodes will air…

You are simply tremendous. I saw you in a production of 'Wonderful Town' over 10 years ago, 'Swing', 'Into the Woods' and most recently in 'Gypsy'. You have many Tonies in your future, I am sure. ;-)

Hi Laura...it's Linda, your old piano teacher. I've been so thrilled about your amazing career, and so proud to be able to say that I knew you when you were ...twelvish? I was at "Gypsy" in November, and tried to see you afterwards, but somehow I missed you. I had something for you, that I've been meaning to send to your mom's house since then. Your performance was just pristine. xo

Hey there, Laura! I just want to let you know that you are such an inspiration. You are the best Broadway has right now and I hope that I can be half as talented as you are some day. Once again, thanks for being such an inspiration to all those wannabe professional performers (a.k.a me). You're awesome!

Thought you were great in Gypsy! I actually auditioned as Louise for a local production of it, I didn't get it (perhaps I'm too old) but kudos to me for doing a musical theater audition and singing "Let me Entertain You" in front of tons of people. Singing solo scares me, but that was a good experience for me. Best of luck to you, sorry about your illness, hope you feel better soon!

Glad to see you made it!!! I knew you would. No one has a more beautiful voice than you. I remember in 5th grade you made all the parents cry when you sang the wind beneath my wings at our choir recital. Congratulations on your Tony for gypsy I knew you would win. It was so neat to watch you up there. Good Luck in the future. Love always Melissa Gefers
