Hey!! Yeah it definitely was and is an amazing opportunity!
When I went, the tuition was $50, 000 all together (for all 4 semesters).
I heard from my friend that someone she knows is going now, and the tuition went up, but I'm not sure to how much. I got $6, 000 in scholarships from the school, based on my audition. I took out loans for the rest. I understand what you mean...money was tight for me, but FASFA and other loans, along with my scholarship, paid my tuition.
Yes, it is so fun...it really was great and I met some pretty cool people. It was great to be with people who knew all the shows I was talking about...lol! :)
Since I graduated, I've done a few coporoate films and some background and feature work on Lipstick Jungle. I also continued to take more acting classes, and mailed my headshot and resume to casting directors and agents. I've been auditioning for every play and stage show I can, but since there are soo many union actors who are out of work, it's much harder to get seen and to get work. Right now, I'm working on some new monologues and going to every audition I can. :) I'm even thinking of getting a grant to put on my own show.
I'm glad that you're going to audition...good!
Hope you're having a great weekend and I'll talk to you soon! Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

I'm planning on moving after this school year as well. Actually I was thinking about auditioning for AMDA as well! But only if I can make enoug money before hand to support myself. If I don't go there, I will probably audition for Capital University in Ohio. Either way, I plan on getting out of my hometown in the near future. It's just hard because my sister and I run a dance studio and it would mean leaving it behind. Good luck on the auditions this spring!!!

You're welcome :) I loved your pics and thought you looked like a cool person. Your costumes and sets are so amazing compared to what my highschool always had! I plan to move away from here soon so I can make it somewhere in life. haha

You're Welcome! Sure, it would be my pleasure. :) I absolutely loved my training and experience at AMDA. I was in the musical theatre program.
The program was rigourous, which was great. As you may already know, the program is 4 semesters. The first 3 semesters are all classes, and 4th semester is 5 weeks of classes and 5 weeks of each showcase, drama and musical. We had musical theatre class 3 days a week, which we performed and workshopped songs assigned to us from different decades of musicals, then would perform them for a grade. We usually had acting 2-3 times a week, and dance 3 times a week, depending on our schedule. We had demonstration finals at the end of each semester for the head of each department.
I just loved the training...all my teachers were amazing. I wish the dance department was a little better, but overall it was great and so much fun! :)
If you have any other questions or I didn't answer something you want to know...just ask...I would be more than happy to answer them for you. :)
