I Am A...
Fan, Actor, Singer, Stage Manager, Student, Writer, Director
About Me:
Hello fellow Broadway lovers! I'm Heather and I'm originally from Stoneham, MA (a small town about 11 miles north of Boston).

I began singing at the age of 6, inspired by Ariel in my favorite Disney movie of all time The Little Mermaid. I used to drive my family crazy because I would practice Ariel's "aaaah" and "Part of Your World" over and over again for hours. My mother says that my elementary school music teacher once told her that I had the best singing voice in the class and she wanted my mother to know that.

My first experience acting in a play came when I was 8. I actually sort of "stumbled" into the world of theatre because my third grade teacher was responsible for putting on a Christmas show that year and needed more people to be in it. She approached me and said she thought I would be good for the show. Although I had never acted before, I said I would try it. The rest, as they say, is history.

I continued to sing and act throughout middle school and high school by joining chorus and the drama club. The summer before my senior year of high school I became an assistant director and stage manager for a summer drama program and continued to work in that position until budget cuts ultimately closed the program down in 2003.

I attended Dean College in Franklin, MA where I majored in musical theatre and received an associate of arts degree in May 2005. Afterwards I attended Fitchburg State College for awhile and then Westfield State College.

I plan to go on to graduate school to pursue a master's degree. My first and only choice is Emerson College in Boston, MA where I hope to complete their master of arts in theatre education program. I aspire to become a theatre teacher or a director for youth theatre.

Yep I'm a senior here at BU. I like the shows you list as your favorites- I enjoy most of them as well. I see you have Rent listed as one of your favorite shows. I'm actually directing a production of "tick...tick....BOOM!" at BU that opens December 4, the Thursday after Thanksgiving. You should come check it out if you get the chance!

Hi Heather,
Welcome to BroadwaySpace! I would like to invite you to my stage to give a listen to "Empty Seats" a digital songbook collection of tunes from my first set of shows. It's in the nimbit player/storefront on the right side of the page (you will have to scroll down a bit). Let me know if you hear something you like. I know you will love BroadwaySpace.
