I Am A...

About Me:
Hi there! My name's Hadley. I've been acting since I was about seven. Nothing hugely major (I've only really lived in very small towns with very little theatrical opportunity), but what I've lacked in exposure I try to make up for in quality, quantity, and dedication. I love to act more than anything, and I like to think that it shows in my work.
I have done a lot of community theatre, and I often volunteer at the local Playhouse here in Flagstaff. I was a stand-in for an independent film in Sedona, but other than that I have very little Film experience. I attend a very small performing arts high school, and for the past three years I have taken many theatre classes - Acting 1, 2, and 3, Musical Theatre and Film. I am now going into my Senior year, during which I'm finally going to take the plunge and attempt Jazz and Voice classes. I have also taken a lot of classes outside of school, and gone to various camps, seminars, and workshops.
Aside from Theatre, my interests include: yoga, snowboarding, rock-climbing, gardening, singing, dancing, reading, wandering around, meeting new people, and going to new and exciting places. I love to travel.
I have a lot of goals. I am an extremely determined person, and I pursue an endeavor to the end. This especially applies to my acting; I want to be a great actor, and I will do everything I can to succeed!

I am now in my Senior Year of high school. I'm taking Advanced Acting (Theatre 4) this year, as well as Musical Theatre. I know, I know. High school theatre. We all know it sucks. But I can tell you with perfect honesty and no bias whatsoever - my school doesn't do crappy high school theatre. No, we don't. Our theatre ensemble does truly amazing work, stuff that blows seasoned directors out of the water. I'm serious now. We do everything from Shakespeare to Commedia to Brecht to Chekhov to Mee. We rock. I'm not just saying that because I'm a theatre geek in that class. It is a legitimate class, taught by a legitimate actor, and we put on legitimate theatre that way surpasses normal high school expectations. There was a scare that I wasn't going to be in it this year, but that's all fixed now, and I am in it!!! And I am so happy.

Peace and Love,
Moi

Hey Hadleeeeey! I'm in my own show. A one man show that I wrote.produced, directed and star in (I play about 15 characters). It's called EAST 14TH. I've got 4 weeks left in my run - tell a friend to come. Here's my New Yorker review...

EAST 14TH
THE NEW YORKER - JULY
All hard childhoods have their funny moments, but few such childhoods are hilarious. Yet the audience can’t stop laughing as Don Reed, in his one-man show, acts out the story of his dicey coming-of-age in an Oakland ghetto in the nineteen-seventies. Reed plays all the characters—his father, a hard-partying pimp; his stepfather, an abusive religious fanatic; his flamboyantly gay brother; and all manner of women, including his lost, sad mother—with both ease and inexhaustible energy. It’s hard to imagine that the awkward kid who came up through such crude circumstances could be the confident man who wrote, directed, and stars in this little play, as much standup as it is theatre, and yet that’s Reed’s point: that East 14th was not just a street in Oakland but a path that formed a decent man. (New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St. 212-239-6200.)
