A Comic-Book Rock-Musical!
The ambiguous Edna is in love with the cheerleader captain Chloe. Chloe is dating the quarterback Thad. Thad isn't really in love with Chloe. He is trying to get into a frat next year and one of the conditions to joining is that he must not be a virgin. Chloe will not give Thad what he wants because she doesn't believe in sex before marriage.
After the high school Halloween dance is canceled, the suspicious Mr. Weatherspoon gives the kids an invitation to the "The Monster Ball" – a yearly celebration with the rock band, the Monster Makers. The kids decide to make the long drive to the show but before Thad can say, " Does this mean we can see other people?", Chloe is killed. They arrive at the party and realize the party is no ordinary soiree. It's a annual raising of the dead and the band is there to open the doors to hell. An evil doctor brings Chloe back from the grave in hopes of finding true love but plans change when a secret is awakened in the undead bride. Finally, the truth emerges about the evil doctor ("...and I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling kids!") and the mystery behind "The Monster Ball."
A morality tale in disguise, Gay Bride of Frankenstein centers around a collective sense of eternal suffering and unrequited love. Further, it showcases the good and evil we humans and semi-humans contend with in that struggle.
