About Me:

A native New Orleanian, Actor's Equity Member and multi award-winning director/designer Edward R. Cox has built an impressive career over the past five decades in the fields of theatre, Carnival design, animation and graphic art. His lively designs and brilliant artistic interpretations have graced the stages of thousands of theatrical stages across the country as well as hundreds of Carnival Krewe's parades and ball-masques throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, and decorating the walls of collectors around the world.

"Edward R." began his theatrical career as a featured performer who quickly rose to a triple-threat star before turning his attentions to set and costume designs. The recipient of several Big Easy Award nominations as well as numerous Storer Boone Awards, his theatrical portfolio is highlighted by glowing reviews for his innovative use of color and eye for intricate detail. A respected expert on Children's Theatre, the Teddy's Award for Excellence in Children's Theatre was created by the Board of Directors at the venerable Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre to recognize Edward R.'s achievements in the creation and furthering of intelligent, high quality family entertainment.

As an avid animation fan, Edward R.'s expansive collection of memorabilia and research covers nearly 80 years of the art form, from full-length features to shorts and television, as well as cartoons and comic books, always using any artistic angle to bring to fruition a new set or prop or costume design as well as graphic poster and logo art.

Most recently, Edward R. resided in Orlando, FL the past 4 years in his capacity as a full-time Cast Member for the Walt Disney World Corporation. In the Entertainment Department he has enjoyed performing in shows and parades as well as many other capacities as a 'friend of' numerous Disney characters. Relocating yet again, he returns to New Orleans with numerous other productions to direct and design and perform in.
