About Me:

Donald H. Sanborn III is composer/lyricist at work on a musical and a Christmas piece. Recent premieres include a song cycle ("Dreams of Edgar Allan Poe"), an anthem ("Of the Holy Trinity"), and a one-act musical ("La Ronde"). Mr. Sanborn completed his M.A. in Music Composition at New York University, where he studied composition with Dr. Steven L. Rosenhaus. During this time, "Elegy for the Roswell Crash Victims," a work for solo clarinet, was premiered by virtuoso woodwind performer Emil Sein, and "Bow Jest: String Quartet#1" was premiered by the Brentano String Quartet. At Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Mr. Sanborn completed his B.A. in Music (with a minor in Theater), and studied composition with Dr. Frank Stemper. Works composed during Mr. Sanborn's studies at SIU include the "Trio for Saxophone, Trumpet and Percussion" and "Two Short Duets for Oboe and Piano." Professional affiliations include ASCAP, the American Music Center, the Center for the Promotion of Contemporary Composers, the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers, the New Jersey Camerata, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Raw Impressions, and the Society of Composers.
