Well, as far as I know, it has been around since 1903 & produces plays in a classic, stripped down way. Nothing flash. (I specifically remember a drama teacher of mine telling me before that 'people in the Abbey don't use microphones' when I asked her would we be using mics in a show we were doing). It's a really good venue & has employed hundreds of actors overs the last few years & has put on loads of shows with its joint theatre, the Peacock theatre. They're both the same venue. It does really well & is very well known. However I've never actually seen a show in there!
