Spring Awakening is by far the most thought provoking, moving, and beautiful musical of the decade.
Rodgers and Hammerstein Comment by Rodgers and Hammerstein on March 4, 2010 at 3:01pm
We are thrilled to see that 2 shows from the Rodgers and Hammerstein catalog were your top picks! [title of show] and In The Heights

Title of show deserves to win.

What is [title of show] doing here? When I saw it, I left halfway through. It was terrible. I am shocked that this terrible excuse of a show made it to Broadway, let alone on the list for Best Broadway Show.

I voted for Billy Elliot. Although In the Heights and Spring Awakening have better soundtracks, Bily Elliot was the only show where I have cried and laughed and been amazed and felt truly moved. It did something for me that just listening to good music didn't really do.

OMG This was o hard It was a tie between Wicked, Billy Elliot or 13 (which I'm in now and it's FANFRAKKINGTASTIC) but Wicked's always been my fave, so that's what I went with.

Spelling Bee. So maybe not the best musical of the decade, but it's my favorite on this list. It's just so quirky and fun, and it doesn't get boring. I've seen it over 5 times in the past week since I'm doing tech for a local production of it, and we still chuckle, if not laugh out loud, every night backstage.

I have no idea why Millie is on there.. anyways I am voting for the magic that is "In the Heights" but Wicked surely will win. Glad to see Avenue Q isn't doing to well... I like it, but not enough for that Tony

I had to vote for Avenue Q. It didn't win for Best Musical for nothing after all! It was, and still remains to be my favorite Broadway show. Not to mention it got me completely obsessed with John Tartaglia :D
Becca Comment by Becca on February 6, 2010 at 7:35am
I had to go with Wicked. It was such an influential musical to the Broadway community. It's what started making Broadway more mainstream! Definitely best show of the decade!
Kiara Dario Comment by Kiara Dario on February 6, 2010 at 6:51am
Next to Normal is one of the best musicals ever! I have never actually seen it, but I have the soundtrack and I listen to it all the time. Alice Ripley and Jennifer Damiano are amazing actresses and singers.
