I think One Hand, One Heart is one of the most beautiful songs ever written :)
you should check out the recording Tevin Campbell (Hairspray) did of it years ago, it gives me the chills!!

I agree with Maria..."One Hand, One Heart" is staggeringly beautiful and touching.

Second choice is "A Boy Like That".....love how angry and passionate it is, also love the harmonies...

After having been Maria in the show, I no longer care too much for I feel pretty. lol My favorite, hands down is a boy like that. So passionate and angry. Second choice is somewhere. I like how hopeful it is and how they dream of a better world where their love for eachother will be accepted.

It's so hard to pick because Bernstein was such a genius. The well known songs are great: Tonight, Maria, Somewhere. But the part of the show that always turns me into a wet noodle is where Maria, after arguing with Anita in "A Boy Like That," goes into "I Have a Love" (if that's what it's called; I'm not sure).

How to choose? Whether I'm a Shark or not, I can't get over any of the Jet songs. They're adorable. Gee, Officer Krupke has to be one of absolute favorites. I love the whole A Boy Like That/I Have a Love exchange. Such passion and feeling.

Eek, this show is too good to pick apart. Maria is a wonderful song too.
The Dance at the Gym has some pretty amazing music, though.
