TANZ DER VAMPIRE This wonder of a show has unfortunately not yet been translated into English, except for a god awful production in 2003 that played on Broadway for a few months. The gothic and somewhat ghastly musical was transformed into a cheesy version of the show, that seemed like a Mel Brook's film which had been rejected by every single film company he had approached. This version of the show starred Michael Crawford as the what should have been ever-terrifying Count Von Krolock, another reason why it was crap! =P This is the only time the show has flopped, and has had extensive successful productions across the globe. It has now become possibly the most successful German musical since Elisdabeth! It's what I would consider the German equivalent of the Rocky Horror Show, what with the productions that continue to run, and the ever growing cult-following. I managed to catch the show in Berlin in March 2008, a few weeks before it closed and set off to Oberhausen (Opens in November 2008) I can honestly say that is the best show I have ever seen! The sets and costumes are stunning, the cast was phenomenal, the music gorgeous, the choreography out-of-this world, not a singe fault in this show! I have yet to write a full review of the show, but when I do I will post it on the group page. If your looking to find a new musical to fall in love with, then look no further, Tanz will be here for you! Please-please-PLEASE join, I guarantee every one of you will love it! Sincerely luke x
