Angela Lansbury was the best Rose.

I disagree. I think Ethel Merman was the best Rose. I love Angela, but no one can belt like the Merm, and when you hear her on the soundtrack or watch her performance at the Tony's, she is so emotional in her delivery. And I think Patti Lupone will do a great job as Mama Rose as well.

Patti LuPone, hands down. But this was one of Bernadette's strongest songs in this role.

I think that Bernadette Was the Best Singer but Bette Midler did a good job at characterizing Rose.

Patti LuPone. Without question. That woman was BORN to play Rose.

Angela Lansbury is a close second.
