We live in the Chicago area and couldn't wait last fall (Nov. 2007) for Avenew Q to come in the spring so we drove to Des Moines, Iowa to catch the tour...only a 4 hour drive each way. We got last minute "nosebleed seats" online the night before for the afternoon show. It was announced that the lead, Robert McClure, was out that day so his understaudy, Seth Rettberg was on in his place.

Hmmmm...that name sounds familiar. Seth attended the high school that my husband taught at in Illinois. My husband was the tech theater teacher while Seth was there. What an amazing coincidence!

We popped in backstage afterward to visit with him and the cast. Well, they talked us into staying for the evening show. Front row seats? Well....alright. Seth was fantastic. Well worth the drive!
