Yup he was in mid-October and he is one of the gems in a really good production of a great show!!!!
On the 29th I'm going to see Stephanie J. Block's holiday concert at Birdland. :)
Good one!!
Does anyone know if South Pacific will still be around in March? I have heard that's really good and I am trying to decide on a show to take my friend Rachel to see as part of her 21st birthday present.
It started as a limited run that kept extending and now the run is open ended. It's numbers have dipped a bit lately but I have not heard any closing rumblings. I saw it in mid-October and it was the best Broadway musical production I have ever seen... well with the possible exception of the IN THE HEIGHTS with the original cast. It should still be up...
Living half an hour away from the City is great,I plan on seeing Hair and Next to Normal, and Im flopping on Ragtime...
My best friend should be up for Thanksgiving, so we'll probably go see a show. I don't know which one; it'll be spur of the moment, probably, but it the idea of potentially seeing a show always excites me!
A cautionary note... there seems to be some pent-up consumption, a couple of weeks ago I tried to get tickets to three different shows on a Thursday night and I couldn't steal a ticket. Just a heads up....
Bye Bye Birdie!
Yay Birdie!
1. There aren't too many shows that are actually running on Thanksgiving day at all.

To add to my Ragtime viewing, it looks like I'll also be seeing A Little Night Music.

Oh....Jason: I'd try to keep friends from seeing BBB as well. I took my kids and they really enjoyed it. (but it wasn't as awful as I expected)
Annie you are right about Thanksgiving Day most shows are dark but what is playing is not exactly chopped liver...

A STEADY RAIN
CHICAGO
HAMLET
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
WEST SIDE STORY

Not to mention Off-Broadway... ALTAR BOYZ and AVENUE Q to name just two

Seeing a show during the holidays is a great experience. I had a chance to see HAIRSPRAY last year on Christmas Day before it closed... that made it even more special....
