i am such a geek....
yeah the set is amazing, and some of the special effects. OH man!!! yeah it's a 40 mill show and after seeing the drawings for it its going to worth it. I'm really not suposed to talk about it to much but Ill just say that if you go see it you will fell like your swinging through the city with spiddy.

As far as the show it's self it's going to be more along the lines of the Comic book, not the movies. And it's going to have a very comic book feel to it, if that makes any seance.

It is going to be a musical but more of a rock musical, I heard one journalist compare the music to that of Rent, I'm thinking they meant in style anyway. Apparently Bono is writing the music for it, Something having to do with a comment that Andrew Loyd Weber made about rock musicians not being in Broadway lol.

All and all I think it's going to be rather interesting, It will last a year or to I'm thinking, they're already trying to hype it up so by the time Jan hits i'm sure they're will be a good following. I'm just afraid of what ticket prices are going to be.
OMGGG!!!!!!!

i heard that they already picked some unknown actor for the role of peter parker and i am SOOOOO disappointed it isn't Jim Sturgess
I have soooooo much faith in it!!!! and i thought I was the only one...im really excited though!!!!! :D
This show seems like Cirque du Soleil show with music and a plot lol
i want so badly to see this show! i hope that all of the cash flow problems are fixed and it runs long enough to not loose the whole investment. it really is revolutionary for broadway to have something so expensive and extensive as a $40 million dollar musical. that being said, ticket prices will probably start at $150 for full priced tickets in order to supplement the decrease in attendance to broadway shows. it will hopefully, however, open up broadway to an entire new genre of people, comic book lovers!! let's hope its killer :)
I'm excited to see it come together! I walk by the theater on 42nd street all the time. Let's just hope tickets aren't outrageous.....
They were selling tickets for this for the last few months or so......but POSSIBLY only to American Express holders.

To give you some sort of sense where things lie: they are NOT currrently selling ANY TICKETS for this monstrosity. It is doubtful it will see the light of day.

But always possible.
I've been following the train wreck that is Spiderman for awhile. Don't get me wrong, I hope it's amazing, but I have a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach about this one. First, why they decided to not have an out of town tryout on such an expensive show is beyond me. So much of the whole show just seems too up in the air right now. Second, in today's theater environment, previews are no longer the time to fix things and get the right. I'm seriously afraid that unless Spiderman is amazing out of the gate, it's going to be sunk long before it ever gets its footing. I, admittedly, am waiting for the previews, and I plan on being there, and I plan on blogging about it as well.

At the same time, I think Julie Taymor is AMAZING!!!! So if anyone has the ability to prevent a class A train wreck, I do think it's her.
I am so excited for it, the more I hear about it the more I feel like it is going to be a hit.
Although at first I was concerned that a superhero was going to be singing and dancing, but with everyone involved I don't think that it will bomb at all, this has amazing potential, and all I hear are amazing things. I cannot wait!
This does ot belong on Broadway. I am sorry to say. This osunds like a monstrosity and hope that it never sees the light of day! Soory its just my opinion and I believe that this show is an expense that is not worth!
