What shows that haven't yet hit the Great White Way are you looking forward to?  Mine are:

Wonderland- Basically a reincarnation of Alice in Wonderland.  An over-worked but accomplished mother living in the city goes on the quest to find her run-away daughter-- in Wonderland!  Sounds kind of bad, I know, but from the reviews and videos I've seen, it looks AMAZING!

Bare-  Probably the show I'm looking forward to the most.  Sort of a forbidden love story-- between two guys.  And one of them is a jock, which, face it, isn't done a lot!  Seems like it will break stereotypes, and every song I've heard has had so much energy, and emotion, and meaning, and all of them are fantastic!

Vote!-  Think Tracy Flick.  Pretty much a musical on the ups-and-downs of high school, shown during an election to student government.  If you look on youtube, you can find both Allison Case of Hair (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dwrESNzGNw) , and Andrew Keenan-Bolger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9HADXZV-cw) singing songs from it.  There are rumours circulating that AKB may be attached, and I KNOW he was in a workshop of it, along with many of his Battery's Down co-stars (Jake Wilson, Nina Sturtz).  To hear songs : http://www.myspace.com/votethemusical

Bunked: A Camp Musical-- A musical that "follows the story of 5 young summer camp counselors as they embark on their first taste of adulthood. Fatal secrets, impassioned jealousy and
triangular love trysts surround the teenagers, all made more pressing as
the end of the summer approaches.".  Again, AKB and his fellow Battery's Down Co-star/Les Mis' and Legally Blonde's Cortney Wolfson are rumored to be involved.  Recently, there was a concert version.  Actually, their website recently posted a video of Wolfson absoloutely ROCKING their song "Self-Fufilling Prophesy" on youtube, from their concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-TF44PlQuA&feature=player_embedded

Yup, just found that out!

My personal fave is "Caitlyn and Haley".
I'm excited for American Idiot. I love John Gallagher Jr. And I actually didn't realize how many Green Day songs I know & love until I started watching clips from the musical and I was like "Oh I know that one!" haha. I know the songs from hearing them on the radio but I didn't know them by name & artist.

I also would LOVE for Edges to come to Broadway but that's probably not going to happen. I want them to at least release a recording! I love that music.

And my friend saw Wonderland in Florida, she LOVED it & burned me the CD. I haven't listened to it all the way through, but it seems pretty good. Some songs are a little weird & I've heard it's got a few major kinks to work out, but it has potential. Janet Dacal was Alice, but she's going back to ITH to play Nina. I hope if Wonderland does make it to Broadway, she comes back and plays Alice.
Gahhh, I REALLY want to know what this "Edges" show is about know, lol!

And I completely agree about American Idiot. Honestly, I think every SA cast member was incredibly talented, but both of the Jo(h)nathons have always stood at to me.
To be honest I don't even really know what Edges is about. I haven't seen it. This is what Wikipedia says: "Edges (sometimes produced as Edges: A Song Cycle) is a work of musical theatre by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. It is a song cycle about coming of age, growth and self-discovery of people mostly in their 20s."
So that's all I know about it, plotwise. The music is so good though, check it out on youtube.
Song cycles don't have plots. Sometimes they have an arc, but not a traditional plot. That's generally what separates a song cycle from a traditional musical.
I saw Wonderland when it was still in previews and it was really captivating, but I think it has a long way to go if it ever gets to Broadway.
Yeah, I've heard that it has some kinks to work out.
Definitely, but if it were to make it to Broadway or tour, Janet should reprise her role. Just saying haha.
Oh, for sure! She's amazing!
I highly doubt a broadway transfer of Bare because the amateur rights are already available.

But I cannot wait for Love Never Dies. HAHA Just kidding, actually I've listened to the title song, and it's pretty much a rehash of "Our kind of love" and THAT song is a rehash of "The heart is slow to learn". But since it's ALW, I'm not at all surprised at the lack of originality.
Father of the Bride!
