New Musicals...

I am getting quite bored with the selection of musicals that I have (listened to Wicked, mama mia etc, way too much...)...I need something new...I just bought "In the heights", "next to normal" and "Rock of Ages" today.....I would like to find some others...any suggestions?? and also, please tell me what they are about...thank you!!

Side Show is my guilty pleasure. I really really love it in spite of (almost because of) just how terrible it is.

its not terrible!!! *goes and listens to it* never mind...

No, i really like side show but the story line is almost non-existent and the whole show could be summarized in a sentence... but the music is beautiful

The music is beautiful most of the time, though most of the time it's also completely inappropriate for the period with no dramatic purpose for the anachronism whatsoever. And sometimes the music is just ridiculous. "Tunnel of Love" anyone?

What do yall think of "Rock of Ages"?? I LOVE it, Mostly because 80's rock is my thing- so I am in LOVE with it....BUT my husband is an 80's rocker...and he thinks its an insult to rock and that nobody takes hair metal seriously anymore...well....They did as good job insulting themselves wearing makeup and spandex...but that's just my thought on it :D HAHAHAA

I saw it when it was off-Broadway and hated it. I don't care for the music in the first place, and I thought it was ridiculous. Never thought it would make the move.

Ooooh Cruel...I LOVE that music...Musicians really knew how to please an audience back then *no pun intended* And I am THRILLED to finally see a show that has all the music I LOVE in it.

BUT remember- the 80's WERE sleezy- so its SUPPOSED to be that way- if it wasnt, than it wouldnt be very accurate, now would it?? LOL
