So today I bought the Love Never Dies cast recording. So what do I think of it? It's not too bad, really. The music is actually alright, although the rock and roll songs made me laugh because of the ridiculous mental pictures they created in my mind. If you don't pay attention to stupidity of the plot, the music really isn't too bad. Although the stupidity of the plot can make the cast album seem "so bad it's good" sometimes.

I suggest checking it out. Just disregard the crappola story that goes along with it.

I adore the music and just about pass out every time i hear 'Till I Hear You Sing. And i think that the storyline is pretty good, except for the ending. And i sure do hope there isn't any nudity...
But the characters are so out of character in the story.
I love the romantic music, and to be honest the best singer is Ricardo Montaner.

omg it goes on for ever my mother made me listen to it on a three hour car journey and it bored the hell out of me although the odd one or two songs were preety good the over all thing didn't really make me go wow i dont like the story line and how some of the characters have changed
xox
I also enjoy the fresh new take on the story.
There are some things that anyone might want to change- but overall I think it would be a great show to see.
P.s.- the only thing I can't deal with that much is MEG- I see her as sweet and innocent, and in this she comes off like the cover of Playgirl magazine.
I never saw Meg as someone who would twist her morals to get ahead, which is why I loved her and Christine being friends...even for the fact she also dreamed of being a big star...
So I agree with that some of the characters seem to be a little out of place.
I definitely don't like what they did with Meg, either. She always seemed sweet and innocent. Maybe a bit bratty (at least in the book), but not so hungry to get ahead that she would take drastic measures! She seems like a completely different character in this sequel.
I heard this show was loosely based on the novel the "Phantom of Manhattan" in an interview somewhere with Andrew L. Webber- but I would be dahmed to hell if I could remember where?
It is based off of it. A lot has been changed, but it's the same basic idea.

So I ummmm..."bought" the recording and I've listened through the whole thing. Which is a plus, I would say there is enough going on to keep me interested one song that surprisingly grabbed me was "Dear Old Friend" It was surprisingly different, not very Phantom-ish at all. It does get repetitive and misses some points that would have made it amazing, but the harmonies are beautiful, and it adds a bit of humor to the otherwise dark show. Otherwise, the repetitive sung-through nature that has become tedious to my ears is very prevalent, and just as annoying as before. Also....stupid, boring plot.
