With the Oscars on tonight, I figured it would be fun for BroadwaySpace to have our own little version of the Tony's, but online!  I'll post the categories here, and you all can post your votes in a comment.  Each category will have four nominees plus one "OTHER".  If you have something that you think should be nominated, but isn't on the list, put them as your vote for that category, and if at least four other people put the same name for "OTHER", than that name will be added as a nominee for that category.  The awards will not just be for this Broadway season, but also for recent past ones and future ones.  The votes will be counted up, and the winners will be posted in TEN DAYS (WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17th)!

Didn't we do something like this back when the Tonys were on? My answer to every single one of these is "other" but I feel the need to vote for only one, because of the painful exclusion of both Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein, two of the greatest musical theatre composers of all time, far better than any of the composers listed, in the "Best Composer" category. My vote would go to Sondheim, but I'd be happy to see Bernstein take it.
I agree with those, but like it says at the top, I was doing shows from this season and the RECENT PAST, as in the past 3 - 4 years. And no, I searched it and I couldn't find anything like this.
Far as Bernstein goes, ok. But Road Show last year and Sondheim on Sondheim coming up isn't recent enough?

ughh. Look, I get you don't like me, but can't I just for once make a comment or a thread without you criticizing every single thing I do? It's starting to drive me crazy. This is one of my favorite websites, and having you and some other people yell at me every day, is really annoying.
he didn't... nobody's yelling. take a breath, count to ten [ i blew it once but i won't again (; ]
I never yelled. I pointed out that Sondheim has recently been represented and will be again in the near future. In fact, I completely forgot to mention that he's represented on Broadway right now.

You also said that you couldn't find the thread I was referring to, so I found it. I don't see where I criticized you or yelled at you.
Meow.

OH MY GOD! I cannot believe I did that!! Writing this, I TOTALLY forgot about Billy Elliot! lol. I mean, I didn't like it, but there's no denying it's a crowd favorite! lol. Let me add that in there! Sorry.
Sorry to nit-pick Jason (and you know how much I love your posts) but technically West Side Story is based off of a play. But I agree with almost every thing else you wrote on here. And DANG! I forgot all about Janet! Now I regret putting Laura Bell, who I don't like that much in the first place. *edits*
What It Means To Be A Friend, I think that is the most strong for win, I hope that does not like Avatar movie...
