I just got a new itunes giftcard and sooo I was wondering
What songs should I purchase??
It doesn't HAVE to be showtunes,but that's more for where I'm going towards.

These are some of my personal favorite theatre songs and my favorite recording:
"Not a Day Goes By" sung by Bernadette Peters on the album Sondheim: a Celebration at Carnegie Hall
"See What I Wanna See" sung by Audra McDonald on the album Happy Songs
"Losing My Mind" sung by Barbara Cook on the album Follies in Concert
"Happily Ever After" sung by Carol Burnett on the original cast album of Once Upon a Mattress
"I Hear Bells" sung by George Lee Andrews on the original cast album of Starting Here, Starting Now
"Crossword Puzzle" sung by Loni Ackerman on the original cast album of Starting Here, Starting Now
"Tom" sung by Carolee Carmello on the original cast album of Hello Again or Audra McDonald on the album How Glory Goes
"The Rainbow Connection" sung by Kermit the Frog on the soundtrack to The Muppet Movie

well actually, not too long ago, i was one of those people who was like
Wicked! 13! (i still love it though) Legally Blonde! Annie! Les Miserables! Only the popular ones, that kinda area. So the reason I asked is so check out some songs from OTHER shows, that aren't on broadway currently,or just not so well known to 13 year olds.(im in middle school). And I find it SUCH a pain to just search shows on wiki, then copy and paste the songs into google or youtube. So really, just put any favorites. :D

I'm currently obsessed with the song "Unexpressed" from John Bucchino's It's Only Life revue. Gavin Creel sings it on the recording, and it is gorgeous.

I love The Rink! And Ragtime is great too! I would suggest Mother's Younger Brother's Songs (The Night That Goldman Spoke & He Wanted To Say) and there are a lot of other great songs too, if you dont already have it I would suggest even buying the whole album.
