So it turns out our favorite puppets aren't moving off AVENUE Q - they are just moving OFF-BROADWAY!

AVENUE Q just announced at their final Broadway performance that they will be reopening off Broadway at New World Stages later this fall.

Yay! I'm really happy about this!
This is fantastic news! Great idea...seems like there will be a large audiences. There were over a hundred people with me tonight that couldn't get a ticket to the final show (at whatever $$$$$$$ price). Perfect show to move to a smaller location...small cast and small set and a small band will allow for an easy transfer.
that is just crazy...in a good way...probably bc there was no reason to hav it on broadway
bc it wasnt profiting but it will live on ...yay
I think this is awesome! I absolutely loved this play. It reminds me of well, me. It's kind of what I'm going through right now. It started off broadway and it returning home (well, sort of).
I'm confused.... If the show is closing ON Broadway... Why is it reopening OFF it?...

There's the logic in this one? Why not just keep it at the saem theatre.
They're getting kicked off the theatre. Landlords fault.
Going back to a smaller theatre is where this show began in. In this time of money constraints, etc it is a wise decision. Now I'll get a chance to see it as I was upset it was closing.
I remember visiting NYC many years ago and Ave Q was such a huge hit off B'way. I am so pleased to see that it is going back to its roots! Who wants to see puppets from way up high in the gods anyway???!!!
Kasee, also less overhead. Contracts with labor, musicians and actors can cost less Off-Broadway and rents are less. Off-Broadway sorta becomes Broadway with the 500th seat in the house (the big space at New World is 499 seats). Plus I love New World (especially since turning 21). I can take a drink to my seat.... Nothing gets much better than ALTAR BOYZ with a Jack on on the rocks!....... YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Hmm. Are there going to be open auditions? Or like is the cast list set? Because on the site it says coming soon!
They must have a cast, there's no way they could have auditions and rehearsals in 3 weeks...I'm guessing the cast is people who have been in the show before.
That's fantastic!!!
