Hey guys i've heard of ppl going backstage after Broadway shows. i think it seems really cool, and really fun too! My question is...for all of those who have gone backstage at a show...is

1. Who did you ask?
2.What show was it?
3. And how did you ask?

It seems like a totally awesome expirence!!! and i've heard a lot of ppl doing it. so yeah! :)

It all boils down to connections. Some shows I've heard during Bway Cares raffle off backstage tours of touring productions...

More than likely it depends on who you know in a show.
I got to go back stage at Hairspray once, Dwayne Cooper picked one person from the stage door to come backstage with whomever they were with and he picked me!
I went backstage to Wicked, but it was on tour. I knew the keyboards 1 player. So yeah, like the others said, you can buy a tour from BCEFA or if you have a friend with connections, see if they can get you a tour.
oh.i get it! oh, well thts cool anyways!!!
The only times I've been backstage was when I had friends or friends of friends in the show.
I've gotten to go backstage at the Gershwin several times because of my dad's friendship with Timothy Britten Parker.
That would be direct connections. I've also gotten to go backstage at the Nederlander and the current Rent tour, which was a result of Mr. Parker making a call or two. So, as someone else said, it all boils down to connections :)
I went backstage after Wicked, but that was only because the people i was with knew someone in the show. Like others have said it all comes down to connections.
Unless you win it the only way is really to know people or know people who know people. I have a huge interest in technical theater and I've been very successful in contacting them and making connections.
I was at Fiddler on the Roof on tour in February when I was invited backstage by the stage door security person because me, my friend, and our moms were the only ones at the stage door and it was freezing outside. So I got to go backstage in the foyer area and see a bunch of signed posters (Hairspray, Movin Out, Beauty and the Beast, etc.) and then meet the legendary Topol! It was awesome.

I don't reccomend you ask to go backstage though, it can come across as stalkerish no matter how nicely you ask.
hahahah.okay! thanks!
when i was 7 i saw wicked and i got to see the stage and go back stage and meet idina! i am gunna post my pic with her if i find out how to! lol.
WOAH!!!!!!!!! LUCKY!!!
