Asking for some prayers
Hey guys-
Normally I post fun, quirky threads, but I now want to ask for all for prays for my father. Long story short, from December 2006 - February 2007 he had two open heart surgeries, the first to repair a would-be-fatal areortic disection (Google it), and the second to fix blocking from the triple bypass he also had that was blocked with 90% scar tissue.
A week ago he had hernia surgery (lovely, right?) and that now has an infection. Saturday night his blood pressure was low and he was acting very out of it, which is weird. Yesterdya, Sunday, my mom called 911 for him (non-emergency) and he was admitted. His blood pressure is still low, but he's in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to be closely watched. He also is still a bit out of it, calling a nurse a bitch (something my dad would NEVER do otherwise) and seeing things... But he knew who my mom was, "My wife" and knows that tomorrow the 2nd is their 30th wedding anniversary. Doctors checked him for a stroke, as that can be the cause of being dilrious, but nothing so thank God. Oh, and he keeps threatening to pull out his IVs, so he's been restrained and has a night nurse, or as my mom and I are saying, a babysitter. (Keep in mind my dad is 6' even and still strong)
I'm still shaken up though. I broke down crying in a private coaching for my scene with my partner and acting professor... She was giving me notes on my character, "She's remembering seeing her father in the hospital", forgetting what I had told her about what I was going through. Luckily, she said if I need this week to just stay home and collect myself mentally, she won't count my abcenses against me as it's a family emergency... And she would be more than happy to see our scene another time one-on-one. I love teachers like that who are so understanding.
So. Yeah. I just really need good thoughts, positive energy, and prayers. I accidentally send myself to a place in my mind I CAN'T go to, so I need some help. Honestly I don't have anyone in my real life to turn to and I know that, as a community, as a theatre community, we stick together and help one another.

okay so you know on tv hospital shows when someone is out of it and people talk to them, then you find out the person heard them? you think it doesn't happen in real life.
it does. my daddy heard me bawling over him yesterday and yelling at a doctor. but he just couldn't wake up. my mom and i went down tonight to see him. he's awake and alert. his eyes have light to them again. we asked if he heard me yelling and ne nodded. after this, he motioned for me to come close (he has a breathing tube and a feeding tube still and will for a few days) and hugged me in an one arm iron grip and when i tried to move, would NOT let me go. it's like he was telling me that he heard me crying and to let me know that he was going to be okay. it was just... ah! amazing. he then mouthed, clear as day despite the tubes, "popsicle". that right there is a sign he's going to be okay, haha.
not out of the woods quite yet, but for him to do THIS much of a turn around over night... wow. prayers really helped a lot.

he must really have wanted a popsicle... he's off the vent completely, breathing on his own, talking, and demanding red popsicles. (red and only red.)
no wonder i was able to fight as a primee at 1 lb 7 oz born 3 1/3 months early. will to fight and survive totally comes from him.

Father, I ask You to keep this lovely Kasee in Your arms. I pray You keep her father safe and improve his health, that You guide the doctor's wisdom and give him knowledge of her father's current condition, that You bless the healing hands of those nurses working with him, and that You keep Kasee's family calm as they reach out to You during these difficult times. I also ask that You grant Kasee a peace that no one else can grant her with, and I thank You for giving her an understanding teacher and scene partner. I pray that these continuous scary situations only lead to good in Your perfect plan, and that it's outcome would be glorifying to how wondrous and merciful You are. Amen.
