OK so my "friend" whose you now the best thing ever or whatever

Says RENT is about hobo lesbians and wicked is about green witches (wtf? and i'm like actualy there's only one green witch so it wouldn't be plural ha)and as i've said before on one of the forums she's apparently gods gift to musical theatre.

Do you know any one who sorta says a show is about one thing which actually has nothing really to so with the show or else isn't the main message or story?

My mom. I asked her to take me to The Producers, and she said, "Is that the one about the film maker and all the people with AIDS?" Yes, she confused it for RENT.
On a certain level, she's right. Rent is about hobo lesbians and Wicked is about a green witch. Now, that's not all that either show is about, there's a lot more. But on a very surface level she's correct.

And here's the thing: it doesn't matter what she thinks. If she thinks Rent is just about hobo lesbians and if she thinks she's God's gift to musical theatre, that doesn't make either of them true. And it's not your job to correct her. People like that are annoying, but they won't go far. Unless, of course, they wise up and start doing their homework. But I've known a lot of people like that, and most of them don't wise up and start doing their homework, because they'd rather believe that they know everything and there's something wrong with everyone else.

If this is a high school "friend," I get how annoying it is when you can't avoid them. But very soon you'll be able to phase those people out.
i try to just nod and smile ha ha
Yeah, pretty much second this. I was actually about to write up something very similar.
I'll third it. As obnoxious and annoying as people like that can be, just roll your eyes and move on and know that you know better.
One of my friends thought Phatom was the same thing as the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Lol. I used to get irritated when people would make mistakes like that I've recently decided it wasn't worth it. So now I just laugh and roll my eyes... besides sometimes what they say is really funny.
