Has anyone seen a show that was so bad they actually wanted to (or did) leave during intermission, thinking, "WTF was that?" Or does anyone have a least favorite show that they will never go to again?

The Crucible is not all about people getting hanged. My suggestion: don't let the play take the blame for a bad High School production. The Crucible is about whether or not you'll give in to a sea of lies, and whether you'll screw your friends to save your own life.
Yes, Caroline or Change.
Contact was the worst show i have ever seen. and ive seen a lot of them!
I adored that show! I thought it was absolutely brilliant and moving... the last moment of the show was stunning. That's one I wish I could have gone back and seen again.

And of course, Stro's choreography! Wow! The dancing was phenomenal!
Live from Lincoln Center (who are infamous for not releasing their tapes) filmed it and showed it on PBS, and I only caught the very end... BUT...

I've heard a rumor that Live from Lincoln Center is finally going to start commercially releasing all their stuff on DVD, which means there's a chance to see Contact again!!!!
Are we talking about the same show? The show that Ben Brantley called "a sustained endorphin rush of an evening, that rare entertainment that has you floating all the way home"?

Okay, so I'm a NY snob, and I basically don't read many reviews other than the NYTimes, basically, because that's the one that matters. Here's Brantley's entire review: http://theater2.nytimes.com/mem/theater/treview.html?pagewanted=pri...

But, don't take my or his word for it. Here's the clip from the Tony Awards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyZAFt_Jmrc
Now, unfortunately, it was designed for the Beaumont, which is a 3/4 stage and Radio City is a proscenium, so the set doesn't quite translate. But watch the man finding himself in a world where the language is dance and he doesn't speak it, and the only way to get the girl is to learn the language. Look at the vocabulary Stro created with her choreography. It's amazing drama, and with hardly any words at all.

Also, we'll hopefully have it on DVD soon, so you can make your own judgment of the whole show!
Yeah, but I'm a NY snob, because I only read the Times. In fact, when someone says "the Times" I immediately think "NYTimes." I forget about the London Times... or the Weehauken Times or wherever.

I'm glad you think I'm not a theatre snob... but as far as NY and NY culture goes, I'm such a snob!
Very often the reason I enjoy the more "artistic" productions is because that's my aesthetic. But, also, I was raised on good old fashioned entertainment. I don't like the term "fluff," because I don't think it applies. It's derogatory. The fact is that not everything has to change the world. I was listening to Barnum the other day, and that's just purely entertaining and it's brilliantly written.

Legally Blonde, in my opinion, while obviously written to be purely entertaining was little more than boring.
...shrek. didn't wow me.
I liked it a lot, it was above my expectations (which were low). It's defintley not a classic or anything, but if your looking for some fun, feel-good theatre, I think that's what it was made for.
I never really saw a show i DIDN'T LIKE. But, i'm not the biggest "Spelling Bee" fan.
Leah, just letting you know....I'm jealous of your bangs.
