Has anyone seen a show that was so bad they actually wanted to (or did) leave during intermission, thinking, "WTF was that?" Or does anyone have a least favorite show that they will never go to again?

Aside from the fact that Rent hasn't had time to become a "classic"... I just did not like it. Actually had a rather visceral reaction of dislike. Sure I know worse shows (none of which have made it to Broadway, THANK GOD!) but Rent and Les Miz have got to be the worst shows I've seen on Broadway (keeping in mind that I saw Big, Cry Baby and Dracula... well, okay, maybe Dracula was worse.)
Did you see the recent revival? I heard it got MUCH worse as the show went on. I saw it very early in the run and cried through the whole show. It was beautiful. But I heard that it just went downhill as the run went on.
You saw it kind of mid-run, then? I guess it must have been fall of 06 that I saw it. It was really wonderful. It makes me sad when something that should be SO good turns out poorly.

As excited as I was for the revival, I knew that it a) wouldn't hold a candle to the original and b) wouldn't hold a candle to the run of the original. Reviving long-runners is so tricky, because there's so much baggage that comes along with the show and there's so much to live up to. I was so afraid that the revival of The Fantasticks would be a huge disappointment. It hasn't disappointed yet.

(Still, though, even if I get to take my children to go see this production of The Fantasticks, it won't be the same as taking them to see the original production, which I saw and my parents saw.)
I saw barnum off broadway... I wanted to die it was SO boring
Off-Broadway? Do you maybe mean regional or community theatre or something? Barnum's never played off-Broadway.

I love the show. I want them to revive it with Hugh Jackman right now.
ewww. why hugh jackman?
I really disliked Phantom...I couldn't hear the performers and that is unacceptable for Broadway. I think any way. I recently saw Spring Awakening and LOVED IT! I didn't think Little Mermaid was bad or at least not as bad as Tarzan.
Since I am not an Opera Fan, my obvious choice is Phantom of the Opera, the scenaries were amazing, but the music YUCK!
I love opera and I hated Phantom of the Opera. I don't think it has many aspects of opera at all. It's actually quite the opposite. Opera uses arias (songs) to convey plot-points and emotion and character and uses bits of recitative (sung-dialogue) to link between. Phantom uses songs that don't really give any new kind of information, and lots of sung-dialogue to give the plot-points, etc.
ummm something that i have absolutely NO desire to see whatsoever is shrek. it looks COMPLETELY pointless and stupid, no matter how good the actors are in it. i also heard it was terrible. AND its already up for half-price tickets at tkts in times square. that should say something.
Actually, I saw Shrek at the end of July and it is very good. I dragged my family along to see it because I really wanted to see Sutton and Christopher in it, but I had very low expectations for the show. It's actually one of my favorites! By the end, my family and I thought it was WAY better than we had expected it.
i too saw shrek at the end of july...and would you believe Brian Darcy James and Sutton Foster both took the night off! i was sad but i was really happy to see john tartaglia as he is my fave actor on broadway...front row! sure it is not the best show but i laughed a lot and my younger sisters loved it! it is deff a kid's show!
