If you had to pick ONE theatrical "Best" of 2007, what would it be? It can be a show, a performance, or whatever!

And if you'd like, you can add a WORST, but that's optional.

Mine?

BEST: Spring Awakening
WORST: The Strike

BEST: The return of Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal to Rent. This brought so much life and vitality back to the show, and it was well deserved. Getting to meet both of them twice from Aug-Sept, during their run, truly amazing and inspiring.
Best: Spring Awakening cast singing during the strike! (Johnny and his ukulele!), giving certain cast members Build-A-Bears and having them mentioned on various interviews or in the background of videos!)
Worst: the strike
Uh oh.. Ken put the word "ONE" in all caps! That means I can't sneak in more than one.. darn! This is HARD (all caps).

Um... oh... well..

Ok.. I'm gonna walk between the raindrops! I'm going to list a personal favorite and a general favorite (Take that, Ken "ALL CAPS" Davenport!).

Personal best: Discovering Altar Boyz when I was just looking for something to watch when I lost the RENT lotto the first night I was in NYC. (Thank GOD- all caps- that I lost that lottery that night! I would have never found Altar Boyz!).

Overall best: Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal returning to RENT (and making me lose the lottery that night! By the way, I had tickets the next night, so I got both "bests" within 2 nights of each other).

Worst: Yeah..the strike...
Ken
I have to agree with you.
BEST: Spring Awakening
WORST: The Strike which helped I am sure in sinking my All Time Favorite (Sitting In The Audience & Laughing Show) Drowsy Chaperone!!!
So that Show has to still be my FAV HOLD OVER BWAY SHOW in 2007 and Beth Leavel and Danny Burstein just got BETTER & BETTER all the way up to Closing!!!!
best: annaleigh ashford joining wicked as glinda.
worst: jon gallagher jr. leaving spring awakening before i got there to see him /:
Great minds think alike.

BEST - Discovering Spring Awakening
WORST - The Strike of 2007
Best: "Frost/Nixon" the play
Worst: "100 Saints You Need to Know" the play

"Frost/Nixon" was an absolutely brilliant and entertaining play. It kept you at the edge of your seat the entire time.

"100 Saints You Need to Know" had the most ridiculous premise.
Hrm....can't really decide. Having spent two weeks in Edinburgh, Scotland for the Fringe Festival, i saw plenty of performances. And then I saw a couple in the US...
Best--Speech and Debate. Smart, funny, gutsy, tech nerd savvy, theatre geek crowd pleaser.

Worst--Young Frankenstein Hollow, commercial, not funny, tired, uninspired

(Click on underlined text for my reviews)
Of course, the worst possible theatrical event was the strike...someone is probably writting a musical about it as we speak. If so, it's sure to be a hit. For worst show, I have to nominate Spring Awakening. Funny how polarized the audience response to this show is...love it or hate it,; I've never met anyone who says it was ok. The Best musical for me is Legally Blonde...I didn't want to like it, but I love it! I just wish Marketing had capitalized on Laura Bell Bundy's t-shirt "Let me be you."
Best: Legally Blonde
Worst: The strike. No question.
sping awakeing was young hip bringing a younger theatre crowd to broadway
