Who misses it?! Who doesn't miss it?!? Who felt like it should've been gone years ago? I just want to know how everyone feels about this popular musical that is no longer on broadway.

Whoa, this one was just started. I was just going to read what people had said, but...no one's said anything yet...I guess I should say something?

I never got to see Rent on Broadway, which makes me pretty sad, but I have seen some amazing touring casts, and as long as the tour keeps going for a while I'll be happy.
I saw "Rent" on Broadway 4 times, then saw the national tour in Philly with Anthony and Adam. Incredible. I went to see "The Little Mermaid" on Sunday with my daughter and it was the creepiest, weirdest feeling to pass ny the Nederlander and not see "Rent". I like "Guys and Doll", but it's not "Rent"
I still love it. Always will. As corny as it sounds, the musical and my memories attached to the musical (i.e. being 13 at sleep away camp singing Out Tonight and LVB with my cabin) make RENT mean more to me than any other show possibly could.
I miss RENT so much its scary. I hate going past the Nederlander now and seeing the Guys and Dolls marquee..it isnt right. It's like someone tore down my own home and some stranger is living there now. I saw the show 5 times on Broadway at the Nederlander, then saw it on tour at NJPAC with Adam and Anthony.

It's just not the same without RENT in the world now :(.
I'll just ditto Anita without getting into the nitty nor gritty.

I never got to see it live.....cry......all i got to seee is both the movies....cry....i own both to.....cry
I LOVE RENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pet-peeve of mine: it grates on me when people refer to filmed stage shows as movies. There is only one movie of Rent. There is also a live taping of the stage show, but that isn't a movie, it's a stage show on film.

End of rant. Sorry!
And the motion picture version of RENT sucks.
No it doesn't, it's awsome!!!!! If Jesse Martin and Wilson Heredia weren't in it then it would've sucked.
I own both also and i love watching the interviews and behind the scenes extras on both DVDs. It always makes me cry. I never got to see it on stage though but im trying to get tickets for the tour. Although the live film version is very good, i still won't be satisfied without seeing it LIVE.
RENT was the most amazing musical I have ever seen on Braodway! I don't think seeing it on tourr would do justice to seeing it on Broadway it just wont have the same feeling.

MY sister got the final broadway show dvd for valentines day from her boyfriend I loved the interviews in the special features I learned a lot I didn't know and props to the guy who played Mark for being in a broadway show right out of college.
