When I heard that this was being made into a musical a part of my soul died a little......I couldn't believe it.....

What do the rest of you think of this?

I agree with Evelyn. Broadway producers need to come up with more original ideas than remakes of disney movies... though Shrek isn't considered Disney.
I agree with everyone else-BUT! look at the cast, its a good cast. I might stagedoor it to see John Tartaglia...not sure yet, but I would never PAY to see this show. Putting Shrek onstage is a bad idea!
yea that is pretty bad........
I think it's sick! (in the bad way!)

It makes Broadway a joke! What the heck is WRONG with people? Add something... ANYTHING else... good greif. Oh well though. Do Cinderella or something, that'd be cool, don'tcha think?
It can't be worse than Cry Baby or Legally Blonde. Plus it has top notch people behind it. And the song that they've been pushing ("I Know It's Today") is really damn good. I think the story has a lot of potential. I wish they hadn't gone in the direction of making everything look exactly like the movie, but I have a good feeling about it. I'm hopefully optimistic.
No no no....dont go dissin legally blonde...it was one of my favorite shows!

on the whole shrek thing, ive just got one word.
ew.
Carrie is one of my favorite shows, but that doesn't make it good.
Original musicals are a dying breed and this is solid proof.

Thanks, Broadway, for killing my hopes of being in something ORIGINAL!

Granted, the cast is good, but the idea and concept.... no.
it is probably going to be horrible but will stay on broadway becuase the idiots who did not no broadway was a real place until they found out some movie they like becomes a musical same with spider man
I agree with everyone else...Sherk is a BAD idea as a Broadway show...just, bad!
I think Shrek is a really weird thing to put on Broadway, and I don't think I'd pay money to go see it. I agree with everyone else. It makes me feel funny inside just invisioning the show, even a little. Ew.

I can see how the cast would be good, though.
But the plot, no. Nope.
I'm trying to understand something, so could someone please explain this to me. How is Shrek all that different from Legally Blonde?
