Okay, no offense, but this only applies to people in college or beyond that in schooling. High school just doesn't compare to law school, so please refrain unless you are actually in upper education programs. I'm in law school and finals are the most stressful time during the 15 weeks each term. You only get one chance with one test, to prove you know everything there is to know about the topic on the three-hour, 30 page exam. So, here's my question, does anyone have a specific soundtrack or singer that they listen to during serious study time?

I usually try to listen to Instrumental music...my favorite to listen to is the movie soundtrack from Pride and Prejudice!! Beautiful music!!!!

I love listening to Sasha Sacket's album, Shadowed, when I study as well!!! That music keeps me focused and it's great!!! I recommend him!!! You could google him or find him on the Itunes store if you have an ipod.

I hope this helps. I know I didn't list any Broadway shows or Broadway singers, but these do help!
Thanks so much! I just downloaded Pride and Prejudice, it is beautiful!
Welcome!!! ; )
I love insturmental music when I study. I like the theme song from the movie "Man on Fire" by composer Harry Gregson-Williams. I also really really love the group Sigur Ros http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/ their music is so relaxing and really soothing.

good luck!
I know it's sounds weird but I listen to Celtic music and even some Operas [no lie - I used to be an Opera Performance major so I have quite a few CD's]. The Celtic groups I love are Celtic Woman [amazing all-women's group], and Anuna. And this may also sound weird, but if you go to places like Ross or whatever and see those $5 CD's that seem too nutty to buy, there are actually some GREAT instrumental music there including Celtic [you can also go to Barnes and Noble or Target].

I also love Josh Groban because he's one of my personal favorites and he has some wonderful songs.
ALSO [sorry, I warned that I was and still am a vocal performance major - I could go on for HOURS!], Chris Botti is AMAZING! He is a trumpet player and a phenominal instrumentalist.
He has recorded a lot of jazz and standards...but his music is great to study by.

Good luck on your searching!
If you need any other suggestions, feel free to message me!
Celtic Women are AMAZING!!! I heard them on PBS!!! Also, I had the opportunity to sing with Josh Gorban with some selected members of my show choir my senior year of high school. I got choosen to do it...I was SOO happy!!! It was a cool experience!!! We sang "You Raise Me Up" with him, but the only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't hear our parts..lol We could only hear his...lol
OMG! That is so amazing!!!!
Josh Groban is fantastic - but I have heard that when others are given the chance to sing with stars, parts are lost...I am so sorry that happened to you, but I am sure it was a FABULOUS experience.

I love Celtic Women - they came to do a concert in my hometown but unfortunately, I was in the middle of a run for a show. It was a bummer, but I'm sure they'll come again.
I only listen to instrumental music. Or else I'll most probably start singing along haha! But that's just me..
Anyway, hope you'll find the perfect soundtrack soon :)
Any of John Boswell's earlier CD's. He is a solo pianist, and amazingly great without being showy. His later CD's includes a few more instruments, but "The Painter", his first, is especially soothing and calming without being elevator music. (Actually, you can't go wrong with ANY of his CD's.)
Thank you for all the advice. I love "The Last Samurai" sountrack, so I completely agree with you, Kristin. I appreciate all teh wonderful advice. I just finished kicking serious butt on my first final, and I've got another one Saturday. Thanks again!
