Wicked, The Movie!!!!
Idina Menzel announced last night @ her concert in Atlanta, Georgia, that they r going to turn Wicked, the star stunning show, into a movie. Yes Wicked is going to be a movie!!!
They announced this week to do the show to put it on the silver screen! Is anyone else excited?!!! They do not know who will play Elphaba, but Idina said she may be in it. WooHOO!!!

She better be in it!! That would just be awesome!! I love Idina =] they better not say she's too old. I'll be angry is they do. >.< but yeah, this sounds awesome <3
and they better not dramatically change it, like they did with Rent. I mean, they better not take out certain songs. I think all the songs in the musical really are important, and if they end up taking one out, I'll freak!!

PerezHilton discussed this on his site and suggested Anne Hathaway or Mandy Moore for Elphaba and Kristen Bell for Glinda- I personally think that the original cast should do it but some have a point, they may be too old to do it by the time the movie is actually done :(
Did you guys know Demi Moore wanted to play Elphaba back in the day before Wicked was a show (when the book had just come out)?

Ooooooooh snapple.
See this is awesome, but Im terrified that they're going to ruin Wicked completely. Plus, it'll bring in a bunch of wanna-be Wicked fans. I personally think that Wicked, as a movie, should be based more on the dark-side that is the original novel's story. That would be great and separate the franchise enough to where the musical can still stand alone and be fabulous!
But hey, I'll still go and see it reguardless.
As far as casting goes, I think that they should pick new actors to play the characters and perhaps fit in the old cast as a tribute to die hard Wicked fans. Like if they had Idina as Melena I would die happily!
Laura Bell Bundy as Glinda would be amazing! Or you know, I think Megan Hilty would do an awesome job as movie Glinda as well.

I agree, Rosario was not very good. Her voice annoyed me the entire time. It's hard to be honest, but someone's gotta do it. I've been classically trained, and she just did not cut it. Even if the part was meant to be like that, someone else could have done it a lot better.
