Lots of movies have been made into musicals lately, some good, some not so good.

What movies do you think should make their way to the great white way next? And what do you think make a movie ripe for being turned into a musical?

A CATERED AFFAIR is from the teleplay and motion picture called THE CATERED AFFAIR with Bette Davis and Debbie Reynolds, so AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER has not been done yet. I have to agree with one of the above comments that we need to be looking for really fresh material. Broadway is in such a rut now of remaking films into stage plays ( I can remember when it used to be totally opposite of that situation!).
Enchanted or Hercules
Someone said saturday night fever??? wasn't that already done
OK I am still thinking on this..... TOP HAT based on the Irving Berlin scored Fred & Ginger screwball musical comedy. Now you hook up with the RnH Organization and mine the Berlin catalog that they own adding some of those treasures, you get Tommy Tune to direct , you find yourself a Fred and a Ginger that can dance their aaaaaankles off and chaaaaaa-ching!!!!!! (I'm workin it!!!! from a musical director standpoint) It's all about songs & dance, baby!

next idea.....

FAIREST based on the novel by Gail Carson Levine (Enchanted) OK so well it hasn't been a movie yet but I'm pitchin my music for an animated feature of it .... then DTG can bring it to the NYC! The songs "Princess and the Fool" and "Hope For Good" and "Someone Else's Heart" from my songbook "Empty Seats" are part of the proposed score... click on to my Stage and check it out... let me know what you think... end of shameless self-promotion.... re-joining our regularly scheduled programming.....
I don't really like this movie, but 'Bratz' would make a good one, according to my little sister. Also I think that Centre Stage, the one about the ballet dancers, would be a good one.
I would actually like to see Juno made into a musical.
Moulin Rouge!... Definitely!

There were rumors not to long ago of a musical in 2003.

Enchanted would also!

(I wouldn't be surprised if Disney is working on it right now!)
Dirty Dancing is all ready a musical over in london, some like it hot is a musical called "sugar" gentlemen prefer blondes is a musical. and dracula has two different stage versions. i would love to see Moulin Rouge and The Wedding Planner. I can't think of more right now
The Wedding Planner is actually already a musical. It's pretty good but not one of my favorites.
I think Enchanted would be amazing...

NONE NONE NONE NO MORE!!!!
really. it was getting too much with "Crybaby"...but now "Spiderman the Musical"?!?
thank God for people like Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Nick Blaemire, James Gardiner & Lin-Manuel Miranda for having the creativity, imagination and BALLS to create an entirely new piece of work - regardless of whether or not it is a box-office success!!!
How about "Hans Christian Anderson" the movie musical with Danny Kay?
"One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest"
"To Kill A Mockingbird"
"Tommy"
"Back to the Future"
One of those Bing Crosby and Bob Hope "Road to......"
"Pinnochio"
The Rose, Beaches, That movie with Bette Midler and James Caan (what was that called again?)
Lady Sings the Blues
ET
Animaniacs/Pinky and The Brain.....Pokemon- I love the song that Donna Summer sings called "The Power Of One"
It's late good night
