I am VERY excited about this! Clay is so multi-talented, it's wonderful that more people will now have the opportunity to see it!

That is great about this new project for him I am sure that he will do wonderful.
Yes, I think its wonderful. The man is has SO much talent, he will add a real spark to this play!
I am excited for Clay. This is a great opportunity for him. I am worried that some of the ‘claymates’ might scare off the Broadway fans....they can be a bit over excitable. But I know Clay will do wonderfully. He is super talented and has done musical theatre before. AI was just a stepping stone for him.
I am happy for clay to do this play and Erin your right claymates can be a bit happy to see clay!! as for me I know its not a concert. alot of claymates will be there.
I think the first week will be the worst, then it might get better. Kind of like when Adam and Anthony came back to RENT. I know most claymates will know it is a broadway show so they shouldn't shout and carry on, but any little thing could get them a bad reputation. The last few concerts I went to (yes I know they were concerts) I had some amazingly annoying people who wouldn't be quite even when I ask nicely. Anyway, It can't be worse then A&A's first night back.

Can't wait, I am already planning my trip. "Spamalot" "Legally Blonde" and "RENT"! *Woot*
Erin K.... I am one of those people who go to Clay concerts and SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol however I also know when to shutup. Like when Clay sings slow thoughtful songs ect. I hope most of Clay's fans know that Spamalot is not just Clay's time to shine but all the people up there on that stage. Of course the people who hired Clay for Spamalot know that he has some vivacious fans and probably don't think it will hurt to get them interested in the show. Clay has some fantastic fans and the whole cast of Spamalot would be lucky to get such a devoted fanbase. Perhaps this could be part of the reason for them hiring Clay. I think we all know the main reason they hired Clay is because he is a super talented man in more than one aspect.
I agree with you. Like I said, I bet most of the claymates can be quite when they need to. Just a little worried about other peoples ideas of us. I know I shouldn' t be, but I do when it comes to theatre.

The people that hired Clay know he has fans, and I am sure they are ready. When they hire like that they hire the name to bring the fans to the show. He is also a super talented vet of the stage. It will be fun to see.
I think that a lot of Claymates are a little spooked at the idea of Clay on a BroadwAy stage singing music they've never heard, wearing a costume they can't relate to, (OMG, where are the perfect bluejeans?) and being a character other than themselves. You must remember that in his early days Clay did theater in school, and in local community theaters, and he did it very well. He played a second lead in "OKLAHOMA!" was really good, singing, acting, and dancing

And now, FINALLY, and I say that because I am ecstatic that he is doing this, he will be working with great professionals of the theater from whom you learn the real basics of being an entertainer. It's like dancers, the basic dance is ballet. You learn that and you can go on and be any kind of dancer you want to be. And as Clay said himself, it's his opportunity to "stretch himself as a performer."

Sweetclay, I will be at the May 1 performance and I can hardly wait.

I like the idea. I think Clay wil do well
I think it will be a growth experience for him as a performer and personally. I hope he shows himself just how good he is!
I can see this bringing him more opportunities in the future as an actor and not just a reality TV star or singer.
hi All
thats great shirley you are going and yes the theater does know about clay has a world of fans and this will be different from his concerts and this is the time for clay to grow and do other things and some will yell and scream which its not the place to do that which clay is not alone up there theres others who have a great talent and have come so far to perform for us and I am going to try to go not saying I am but try. as a claymate myself I will not scream or yell as I never did that at his concert as I wanted to enjoy the concert and hope to see him at the play and to enjoy all that perform.
